Interview with Stephanie O'Hearn - Graphic Designer and Pottery Maker

Tiger and Lily Boutique would like to give a big thank you to Stephanie for our new very awesome logo drawing. We asked her to hand draw an idea we had in our heads without giving her any pictures to work from and we received exactly what we were looking for. She did a fantastic job!

1. What's your name, what city are you located and what is your craft?
My name is Stephanie O'Hearn I live in Santa Rosa California, I'm primarily a graphic designer although I have my own (small) pottery studio at my home.

2. How long have you been doing your craft?
I've been a designer since 2000 and I have been a potter since I was 17 in 1984.

3. Where would someone go to learn more about your craft?
I would always advise someone to check out the local community college first, there are so many options for arts and crafts that can be learned for relatively little cost.

4. Please share some tips for someone starting out.
Learn as much as you can and always have a goal, that way you can consistently strive to add to your skills.

5. What draws you to doing this type of craft?
The design work feeds my perfectionism side; I can accomplish designs that are fluid and seemingly perfect. The pottery side is my connection to the earth.The process of taking clay and turning it into beautiful artwork is a satisfying accomplishment, although sometimes frustrating.
